Search by performance
Discussion
Is there a searchable database of cars where you can filter by performance rather than the traditional characteristics like engine size etc? I'm thinking stuff like bhp/ton, bhp/l, 0-62mph.
With the advent of many more turbocharger based normal cars, Autotrader's "engine size" search criteria is a becoming a bit useless.

I've spent quite a while looking for such a database. The only solution I could come up with was to create a script to systematically go through each parkers page and post the data for each car into a spreadsheet.
Then I realised I couldn't be bothered putting the time and effort in so I just gave it up as a bad idea. Ill be watching this thread and praying somebody else has actually done it though!

Autotraders site has always been useless. I can't understand why they couldn't put a little effort into giving custom filters for engine size if you have already narrowed down your make/model.With the advent of many more turbocharger based normal cars, Autotrader's "engine size" search criteria is a becoming a bit useless.
I always find the engine size also never filters out the ones I want to view, e.g. it has 2.0-2.5, so if you want to look for the 2.5 V6's you'll get all the 2.0's too....

None of the links posted so far are searchable really. Nor are they particularly comprehensive.
If there was an advanced search function on Parkers based on the 'Facts & Figures' page then we'd be getting somewhere.
But much better than having to copy and paste numbers from Parkers, no?If there was an advanced search function on Parkers based on the 'Facts & Figures' page then we'd be getting somewhere.
On the websites you can press 'ctrl f' and search for the name of a manufacturer or model. Or you can copy the whole page into excel and create your own filter.
