I have just been given my dad's car as he is no longer able to drive. It's nothing special, just an immaculate conidition Z3 that I do not want to sell as it is his P&J which is why he's given it to me, rather than leave it gathering dust in his garage.

My daily drive is covered by Audi insurance, the OH has hers covered with those crazy sheila's at Sheila's Wheels. Neither company will give us a 2nd car policy, SW refuse to give a 2nd car policy full stop which is surprising, Audi Insurance will quote me for it but don't offer any discount due to NCB (7 years) on the main daily which is a bit of a pisser. I've had this discount before, years ago when insuring 2 cars from another company.

So, I need a recommendation for an insurance company that will either take into account my NCB from the main car and discount accordingly, or be able to offer a limited mileage policy for a car (1998) that is too young to qualify for a classic policy.

Any ideas or recommendations please chaps?

There are insurance companies that will allow you to mirror your NCB across 2 policies. Have a google for them and you might be able to get a competitive quote that way.

classic car insurance

henderson taylor or classicline

my mate is 25 and has an audi a4 fully comp for the daily and a z3 m coupe for a weekend toy. He pays £260 for the z3 m coupe. If the z3m coupe was his main car he'd be paying around £3500.

Try Saffron or Adrian Flux.

Ask specifically for a shadow or mirror policy.

Thanks guys, seems like the best option is Admiral Multicar. Actually works out a few pounds cheaper to insure all 3 cars through them than having the 2 main cars insured with the current policies! Job done smile

If you have multicar and a claim does it affect NCD on all 3 policies?
