Looking for suggestions for a comapany car. Budget is 35 grand with a max CO2 of 150g. It has to "fit in" with C and E class mercs. But I want something that's still fun for B roads. I'm thinking Merc C class sport or 3 series but these are a bit main stream. Anyone any suggestions?

BMW 320D ED
109kg
£27k
168bhp
69mpg

Frankly nothing comes close to it for a co car and it will do 1,100 miles on a tank of fuel...

What about the Jaguar XF 2.2D?

188bhp, 149g/km, and pretty good reviews.

Good call:
CO2 emission (gpkm) 144
Fuel type Diesel
Bodystyle Saloon
Transmission Manual
Fuel consumption 52.3 mpg
Number of doors 4
Acceleration 0 to 62 6.9 s
Maximum speed 152 mph

..and about 32K as the saloon.

Or a 320d m sport
£29.9k so spare for options
125gco2
18% tax
60.1mpg
7.5seconds to 60
Annual tax bill with zero options and 40% tax rate £2,152

The 320d ED
£27k
109gCo2
13% tax
69mpg
8sexkbds to 60.
Annual tax bill with zero options and 40% tax rate £1,404
So £750 extra a year in tax for the m sport looks and internal extra kit and very marginally quicker

Vs a 10mpg saving plus if you have fuel card... It will be better too.

So it all comes down t the big bucks.
At the end of the day if you could have up to 160gco2 then the 330d msport manual would Hecuba choice without question.

Thanks for all your replies. I'd completely forgotten about the Alpina. That's a good call. Think I'll test drive that against the XF but also against the low tax 320D ED. Any others to add to the list? Again, much appreciated - thanks.

Check delivery time on the Alpina, I looked at one around 2 years ago, sure it was a 9 month wait. XF sounds different to the norm.

What about the lexus IS250 with LFA pack? Iv seen one locally in white with dark wheels, looks fantastic, no idea of c02 though.

Volvo s80? Most engines are under 150g. Bit 'unusual' against BMW etc but may be worth at least a look. D3 exec se lux thing is list at under £35k

Edit: without checking figures - can you get into a phaeton for that cash / co2?
