It is its 50th Anniversary today. Lovely cars the E type.

anyone else gone to it? I went years back when i was passing through canary wharf. Not sure i fancy hoping on the tube to go all the way there just to check the cars out.

If only there was news of whether the london motor show is going to happen this year..

If you're talking about the one at the Excel, then no it's not happening this year.

To be honest, if it's like what it was when I went the last time it was on I wouldn't really go out of my way to visit.

You can do the whole 'show' in about half an hour and apart from a few special cars (zonda,maclaren) it was basically a few dealers with boggo bmw's, merc's and VW's

I went along at lunchtime today. You have to hunt around as the exhibitors are spread out - both in outdoor and indoor areas. Worth a tube journey if you haven't seen (and sat in) some of the cars on display. Some highlights:
Lexus LFA - looks great in dark blue
Lotus: F1 car, Evora racer and new Elise Club Racer
Merc SLS x2
R8 Spyder
M3 GTS
Full range of Jags including XKR-S
Nissan GTR and 370z
Range Rover Evoque (shouldn't like it but I do)
Conti GT fitted with £50k in options...

And lowlights:
AC Schnitzer X6 - you can't polish a massive turd
Lowered Range Rovers courtesy of Kahn
Tesla - £87k for an electric Elise...?
New 6 series Beemer - another boring looking BMW. Come back Bangle, all is forgiven

saw the e-types on monday all parked up at westferry circus. spent a good 30 mins dribbling over them. sadly, they and the new xkr-s were just about the only cars at the expo to attract my interest. loads of highly impractical (for me) electric cars and the nissan gt-r got a 2nd glance.

how i wished something new made at bristol avenue had been there to look at.
