Not a name and shame, just looking for members' experiences.

Car needs tracking, looks like the 'new fangled' laser tracking is the way to go.

The local 'Just Tyres' doesn't do it, but Kwik Fit does. Worth a go, or asking for trouble?

How much is the typical ballpark cost I should be looking at?

Many thanks smile

Had my M3 done last month after having some bushes replaced, 4 wheel laser aligned. Just over £65 and a great job. Not sure where you are but this was in S.Wales.

Eta, this was NOT at kwik fit!

One of the guys at BMW Car Magazine had his 330i in at Kwick-Fit to get his winter tyres swapped and while it was there they offered to do an alignment on it he declined as the car had already had a KDS alignment done by BMW but they were insistent that it needed to be done so he agreed.

When he got the car back it drove awful so he took it back, they adjusted it but it still didnt drive right, in the end he had to go to another garage with a Hunter system for them to correct it.

Wouldn't touch KF with a bargepole. My opinion is based on personal experience and not word of mouth.

Find an independant who takes pride in their work.

A laser machine isn't a necessity. They just speed things up. But they do have built-in tolerances which might add up to give a less precise setup than a patient expert with cables, straight edges and plumb bobs.

There's only one thing I'd do at KF involving lasers but, luckily for them, Goldfinger was fiction.

Stick your postcode into the search engine on here...

I get my cars set up on the Hawkeye system. It's a superb bit of kit. Of course, it's only as good as the operator, hence me using this site.
