Guys,

Chap i work with has up to about 15k at the very most to spend.

Currently looking at 996 911s / Boxsters. Im sure PH can think of some better stuff, so for those of us not at Lemans, go on, what would you get?

He wants something sporty, but says needs some practicality. So no Caterhams.

Realistically what can't you get for this money?

How many seats do they need?
Do they need a boot?
How often will it be used?
Is it a daily or weekend car?
Annual or monthly mileage?
Is MPG an issue or what's their monthly fuel allowance for the car?
Do they like to tinker on a car?
Is age an issue?
Is image or perceived image an issue?
Do they like something flash or brash?
Or something more subdued?
Is speed and HP a concern?
Is handling finesse important or are they happy with something more brutish?
What sort of weather proofing is needed?


The reason for so many questions is simply due to such a diverse array of vehicles on offer at this money.

From Corvettes, to Porsche 356 replicas. To classic Triumphs to MX-5's. Even a Ferrari is possible.
