My car is currently for sale in the classifieds. I keep on getting idiots telling me I'm asking too much for my car. Thanks for your insight, but I really don't give a st what you think my car is worth. I would like to ask these spineless idiots if they want to buy my car, but just can't afford it. They don't put a proper email address so I can't reply.

This is what the last tits email said: you must be joking at that price, if you get that i will lick your car clean.

To anyone that has sent me an useless email wasting your time and mine. The car has had plenty of interest thanks, at the price I'm asking for it. I've nearly finalised a sale. But being that it only seems like Europeans have any money the car will be heading off to Europe.

So to Mr Sensible... When would you like to come and lick my cars clean? I've got more than enough you can get started on.

The best thing about e-mail is they are so easy to ignore. I'd have sympathy if it was phonecalls.

What confuses me is that someone sees a car in the classifieds and thinks "I'll e-mail them to tell them it's too expensive". What on earth!? I can only assume it's a buying technique, hoping you'll say "oh".

By the way, when you do sell it - e-mail the car licker back biggrin

I'm sorry to say it but you seem to be pricing your car at almost the level that 2003 160s are being advertised. The one I saw had less than half the miles of yours.

Would 12-12.5k be a more realistic price?

Oh I'm not that irrate about the email. I just don't really get the point in emailing me to tell me that. As I couldn't reply I hoped Mr Sensible reads the forum.

bks to them. And if I won the lottery, I'd buy it just to see that idiot lick the car clean. I do hope you get the full asking price - good luck with the sale. smile

How can they email you without giving you the means to reply? confused

While I was waiting for the advert to load, the tab heading said it was an S160 in scandal. A few years back I remember them going for £12k - £15k and guessed a current asking price would be towards the lower end of that range. Your price seems a bit strong but not wildly out (i.e. £25k or something) but as I say, it was just a split-second guess.

EDIT: Demanding the asking price seems a little precious. No two people will place the same value on a used car so it's only sensible to accept that some degree of compromise may be required to reach a price that buyer and seller are both happy with.

The asking price with the implication that no offers or negotiation is possible does seem a little strong.

Perhaps they've seen it advertised for a while and think they are being helpful?

See I'm not really struggling to sell the car. As it’s Europeans that are most interested it’s take a bit of time to organise a viewing. There are not may scandal green S160's and even less that can be imported into Europe.

Your car is more expensive than others on the classifieds section, though.

Guess them working offshore doesn't help much either.

Why? I don't understand - what is it about your car that means it can be imported to Europe vs other cars?

The new owner will only be getting the keys once the cash is in the bank. Which will mean they will have to pay me in cold hard cash in pounds sterling. Which I'll be paying into my bank there and then. Should be enough to cover my arse.
