Clocking your own car?

Just wondering this from a legal viewpoint. Say you clocked your own car from 120,000 mls down to 20,000 mls as a "mod" is this illegal.

Assuming you did not sell the car and kept it for your own use, would it still be illegal to tamper with your own milage?

Perfectly legal, it is only illegal if you misrepresent the car when/if you try to sell it (i.e. you must inform any perspective purchaser)
