What cheap soft top??

I'm looking to buy a cheap soft top for the summer. Not for me, but the GF, so can be "girlie"!! Lol. I'm looking to spend between £3k and £4k, the lower end of the budget would be good. I had considered getting her an Audi TT Coupe but changed my mind to a Soft Top.

I've had a look at some BMW Z3s, MG TF's and Mazda MX5's. Z3, slightly older car, but better built than the MG, but don't know much about the MX5.

Any ideas or opinions????

Quite a lot of choice tbh. You've covered some obvious ones. Depends what type of car you are after though.

Alfa Spyder, Fiat Barchetta, Daihatsu Copen are all candidates too. Or you've got the less sporty options like a Tigra or some of the other cc type cars.

Hmm. I never thought about a Saab!! I'll have a look. May be a bit big for her, but it's another to consider.

What's the reliability like on a Saab? I know I'll only have it for the summer, but don't want and headache with what I buy. I'd rather it was on the road more than off it!! Lol.

I'm going to suggest she get a CRX Del Sol though just because it has the most awesomist of folding roofs

del sol isn't a bad bet tbh. Watch for rust, but I think they are a rather underatted and good looking rag top. The top spec 1.6 VTI (160hp) is no slouch either.

And there's no denying how cool the trans top is!

I don't want to spend more than £3k to be honest, no finance. She doesn't know I'm buying her a run around, so don't want to spend all that mush in case I get it wrong, and she really doesn't like what I buy! Lol. I'll probably only let her run it over the summer and then either sell it on or give it to my younger Sister, unless the GF particularly likes what I buy her.

There are some cheap Saab Convertibles to be had, but I think they may be a bit too "manly" for her. I'll probably have to stick with the smaller options. I forgot about the Fiat Barchetta! They are meant to be good little cars.

These both looked good to me, but I think the Z3 would be more to her liking. And I have to be honest, being a BMW man it would be preferable to me!

Smart Roadster, i bought myself one about a month ago but its a pain in the arse to get in and out off, but then again i am rather powerfully built.
Another example of buying a car without thinking and now having to sell it
