What's your best BOX people ?
The ones that I remember:
Honda S2000, lovely action and throw, a bit clinical and japanese for my tastes though
Griffith 4.0, amazing box, tiny travel and very mechanical but can be a PITA
993RS short shift, lovely and organic and mechanical, could be a bit shorter
Ferrari 360/430, mechanical and satisfying, that click and gorgeous gate
Exige S2, clattery but in keeping with the car and very characterful
205GTi, still reckon it after all these years
But my winner has to be the Caterham 6 speed box. The throw is perfect, wonderfully short but very useable and quick, gorgeously weighty and just the most delicious mechanical feeling to it. To gun a powerful caterham up through the gears with the 6 speed is one of life's real treats.

I'm biased but yes it's very, very good. When you get the blip on the down change right too it's heaven 
The mx5 is great but bettered by the s2000 so thats why i didnt mention it. Both are slightly too clinical and lacking in good old fashioned mechanicalness to topple the very best changes imo.
I like the idea of including paddle changes. I hope to try th 430f1 box very soon. The 458 box is supposed to be even more amazing .. A whole other league.

For me its a massively important thing when driving/choosing a car. Changing gear is 33% of everything you do and there is as much if not more percieved feel to it as the steering and pedals so in some ways it can be quite defining of the overall experience of a car.The worst box ive ever owned has to go to the esprit S4. Like all things you get used to it of course but today it just wouldnt be allowed. People moan about the evora box ... Theyve never had it so good ! I think the M5 manual shift would come in as second worst, just a horrid thing with tons of baulk to go with it.
