Is this cool or am I a bit strange ?

I developed a thing for old (70s) American Cop cars, specifically the KLF one and the Bluesmobile, with the white and black paint scheme and preferably looking really scruffy, nudge bars still in place, faded paint, no hubcaps, would you think cool or what a knob if you saw it ?

Obviously would need to be pristine underneath and have a 500 plus bhp V8 and be driven as near to a daily as I get.

Im very very tempted to buy an ex-cop crown vic as my next car, hopefully I will have a company van soon so MPG and all doesnt matter but it would be a seriously fun car to have.

Very very cool, but yes you are still a bit strange. I think the reality is that it's cool around these parts but strange/mad/stupid depending on which "normal" person you ask.

Hmm, not just me then, I appreciate they are probably pretty crap cars having been in a lot of American taxis, one of which was an ex Police Interceptor with "Cop Motor, Cop Brakes, Cop Suspension" etc and the driver made a point of registering my interest with a blat from the lights, er, I pretended I was impressed and it did move but probably just under ten seconds to sixty, I think our diesel Galaxy may have given it a run for its money.

They look wrong when clean and shiny, they need to look really ratty and blacked out windows help,

The KLF one is Ford Galaxie (not Galaxy !) and the Bluesmobile and Dodge Monaco.

The thing with that (and all other American cars) is that they look brilliant...in America. In this country, they just look sad somehow. I guess they lose something in translation when you see them sat in the rain in front of a mock-Tudor semi in Peterborough.

I know exactly what you mean, like birds in cages or any animal cooped up when it should be in its own habitat.

Still, that aside, parking that at Sainsbury's in Cheshire, next to all the usual suspects appeals, doubt mr Tag Watch thrusty sales type in his A5 would want to mix it with that when cutting in on a line of traffic.
