New BMW M5 Revealed In Leaked Shots

Official photos hit the web ahead of F10 M5 unveiling

These are the first official images of the new BMW M5, which have been leaked onto the web by German car mag Auto Zeitung.

As expected, the twin-turbo, 552bhp V8 production car is virtually unchanged from the Shanghai motor show M5 'concept', save for more slinky door mirrors and chunkier side skirts.

More intriguingly, there are whispers on the webnet that a six-speed manual option is being developed (we can only hope) and that an optional performance package will increase the top speed to 189mph from 155mph (likewise).

But these are so far nothing more than unconfirmed rumours - and we'll have to wait until next week for the full gen on the new M5 (BMW is set to officially unveil it at the 'M Festival' on 23rd June). So for now you'll have to satisfy yourself with a good gawp at these pictures...

It's a nice subtle yet aggressive body kit. It's just a shame about the styling of the car they had to tack it on to.

As much as I like the old V10, I think this engine will suit the remit of the car rather better.

Saw this testing at the 'Ring recently- it sounds absolutely epic. No worries that the turbo'd engine might make it too quiet.

Looks wise, I guess its ok- a little too 'X5' and not enough 'M5' IMHO, but the new 5-series has grown on me so perhaps this will too.

Better looking than I thought it would be, really like it in Estoril Blue. Think it would benefit from some black BMW Performance grilles on the front as those chromed ones look a bit weak IMO.

Have to say I wasn't sure on the F10's looks when it first came out, but it's grown on me. This is just fantastic!
