Anyone here has Tracker recovery success?

My wife had a blow out recently, since she drives a beemer with stupid run-flats this meant coming home on the back of an AA truck.
30 minutes after she got home the police arrived to see why her car had moved without the wheels turning. They were apparently notified of this by tracker. Came as bit of a surprise as we had no idea the car had one installed.

I've had 2 tracker equipped cars in the last 3 years. The last one was stolen from a car park with a HIAB. I had a call from an automated service to tell me it had been lifted before I'd even got back to the car park. The

In November 2002, the silver manual E46 M3 that I'd had for less than a year disappeared overnight from outside my house. I had all keys. The car was fitted with Tracker Monitor, which was supposed to detect movement and alert Tracker. No alert and the car simply vanished. Tracker couldn't explain and paid for installation of a Tracker in my replacement M3.
In March this year, when I was travelling, my wife called one morning to say the M5 had disappeared overnight. She had all the keys. It is fitted with Tracker Echo, but Tracker had not called to alert us. I called to complain and was told that I hadn't paid the annual fee for the last two years. It turned out they'd got my address wrong and the bank had rejected the direct debits, but they'd never phoned to try to sort it out. I paid up and they located the car in minutes. The police quickly recovered it. The thieves had parked it up and frantically looked for a tracker, removing the hifi amp, phone module, ipod module and other electronics that had been behind the glovebox, but had failed to find the Tracker.
Summary: it worked for me perfectly once and not at all on an earlier occasion (and Tracker are not very good at admin).

Just a question, how did they know your car had a tracker?.
They didn't, they assumed it had a tracker, or they used the gps jammer regardless just in case. Apparently car thieves routinely leave the stolen car somewhere they can observe it, just in case it has a tracker and plod turn up. If it's not attracted any interest after a few hours they assume it's not trackered.POORCARDEALER said:

That's why the OP was primarily asking about Tracker systems. I had an RAC Trackstar / traffic master tracker on a works van, it didn't work, the van vanished, traffic master couldn't give a monkeys.Edited by Gwagon111 on Wednesday 15th June 19:06
