Is there a classier car than this for under £5k?

I've been browsing the classifieds with a set budget of £5k to buy a car that wouldn't look out of place parked outside the Dorchester, or swanning around Kensington.

This is the best I could do: 1987 Mercedes 500 SL

Whilst those *may* be the correct wheels (I'm not sure), the mexican hats are, to my mind, much better. The 15-holes look too modern.

And there's a golden rule about never putting newer wheels on a car than it was originally sold with.

The Alfas aren't a patch on the Merc, and that's before you apply the WWD formula (wrong wheel drive). Lemme see... a saloon car against a classy convertible? Nope. I'm missing summat.

Wheels are right - facelift (and galvanised) post '86.
Bit of a stunner for 5k - half the miles would mean more than doubling the price.

Surely it was worth more than that, though? - if it were a MkII in that condition, wouldn't it be worth £15-£20k?
