Could (ahem) a Lupo gti tow a camper van?

They have an exhaust that exits in the centre of the bumper don`t they? I very much doubt that there`s a tow bar that is suitable.

How far would you want to tow it and do you plan to use a fixed bar or a tow rope?

Simple answer, no! It'll move I expect but would overheat trying to tow it for any longer period of time.

Physically yes but why put the car through the stress. Get a mate with something hefty or hire a van for hours.

Do you mean Caravan? Depends how small it is i suppose.

Check your manual for a max towing weight and find a caravan to match.

If you are trying to tow a camper van, i would say it might but not for very long.

I do mean a 1968 VW split screen camper van. I would be using it as a business. But I'd rather tow the thing as reliability-wise campers aren't apparently the best!

Lots of old tow vehicles available. No need for a high clearance 4X4, an old 5 series or Vx omega would be my first suggestions.

even a lightweight pony trailer is going to be 1600kg EMPTY

Will be very close to weight limits on a car such as a V70 if it's on a trailer

For extended towing your really going to be wanting something heavier than an estate
