Ford Fiesta Automatic/duramatic

Hi

Due to a change in jobs i am looking at getting a newer car - i have spotted a 07 ford fiesta which is automatic/ uses the durashift gear box. its within my price range and looks pretty decent. I also figured the automatic might take some of the hassle out of the longer drive i will have,with no gear changes etc and also i find auto's to be a bit safer, no need to faff with gears and can keep both hands on the steering wheel etc....

I have driven my boyfriends automatic (06 bmw 1 series) which i know is a bit different but im not fussed about changing to an automatic. I'm just wondering if anyone knows much about them? are they any good? are they prone to faults? is it pointless?!

I have just realised that the title is wrong - I dont mean duramatic I meant durashift.
