Probably a horrid brown Hillman Hunter circa 1975. It was knackered when he bought it off some bloke in a pub for some derisory sum, and was knackered all of the time that he had it.
At my school, the rule was that if you were late three times in a term you received a detention. My dad negotiated a special "crap car " extension, allowing my brothers and I to be late five times before we hit Der Cooler.

From 1972 to 1994 he had two Citroen GSs, a 4-door Renault 5 GTL, a Citroen CX Safari diesel (God only knows why he wanted something so big
) and finally a late Citroen CX 22 TRS.
On reflection the Renault 5 was probably the worst, as it was the most cramped.

When it got stolen and burnt out we had difficulty gettin the insurance company to understand there was a model lower than an L.
