Help me quickly with my rental car problem

Hi all,

I booked a rental car a couple of months ago, and thought it was all fine.

Now I just checked with them whether I can take it to Slovenia (I am picking up from Geneva) and they said all countries in Europe covered except Slovenia, Bulgaria, Albania etc

I have 2 days before I go on holiday, and literally have no idea what to do.

Either, I just say fk it and drive it in Slovenia anyway, or I abide by the rules and find another rental company at short notice.

Anyone been to slovenia from geneva before? If so, pls recommend me somewhere to rent from.

I'd find another rental company, I'd have thought the car will have a tracker in it and they'll know when you're in slovenia, although what they can do about it I don't know.

Phone up and ask why. It maybe the normal insurance doesn't work but you can pay a little bit more to allow you.

If not, you should have read the small print, going to be your loss unfortunately.

Whats their cancellation policy?

speak to them about upgrading the insurance or if you can purchase insurance to cover the car to be driven extra

Best not to take it there as probably not insured for those countries. I once took a hire car from Portugal to Spain, got away with it, but a holiday rep pointed out that I shouldnt have for insurance reasons...

The ridiculousness of it is, is that you book with the site, but then they go and book for you with the rental company. So, until you have paid, you can't see the specific terms and conditions that you are signing up to.

I pointed this out to them, so they upgraded me for free. :-)

Thats pretty stupid

what site was it? The one I work for makes sure you can see the t&c's clearly before booking. amazing how many customers dont read them still.
