Private plates increasing V5 owners...I think not...

Gooday All,

I keep seeing in cars for sale trying to justify extra owners on the V5 due to private plate changes?

I may be being a dunce, but I was under the impression this had no impact at all on the actual number of owners, and just logbook reg details changed?

For instance, an advert I saw earlier said a car had 7 owners, but had 3 private plates so 'really' it only had 4 owners. Is this bks or am I missing something?

Sounds like the car is a dud ... (I am making an assumption here ... on many fronts, LOL)

Have a look at the online MOT reports ... they also list observations ... eg low engine oil etc ..

It's bks. I changed a plate on my car and it still has it as 'Number of former keepers, one.'

What about change of address? Does that affect the number of former keepers?
Or is that bks also?
