Parrot advice

Evening all, i have just purchased a parrot MKI9200i (not a feathered squawky bird thing as the title might have suggested) and was going to have a crack at fitting it myself. Is this an easy enough job or should I be looking to get a specialist to do it for me? Car is a 2006 BMW 320d E90.

I'll share this. I bought a Parrot and asked the fitter in Halfords to install it as a private job which he readily agreed to do. He fitted it to my dad's 2003 330D. It subsequently killed the combined head unit/sat nav unit due to his wiring error. Replacement unit via BMw was £559.

Dont take this on yourself unless you are condfident you KNOW whay you are doing rather than think you know what you are doing. Get it fitted where you have a comeback if its bodged!

Ok, thanks for the advice. I know a guy who will do it for me on Monday, I prefer the sound of a £50 fitting charge to a £550 new head unit charge! Cheers!

I fitted a parrot kit to a friends passat and it was straight forward. It took a little extra time because there was no ignition feed behind the stereo so it had to be taken from the 12v acc socket.

I used an a lead which changed the cars stereo plug to a standard iso lead. This made it much easier and saved chopping into the existing wiring.
