Getting History From a Dealer

Good evening all.
I do not have much history for my new car as I bought it from a scrap yard on a huge whim.
I do know, however that the car was serviced and mot'd at a garage local to me.
Is it possible to contact the garage to see if they have records of the work done to the car?
I have tried to contact the previous owner but I cannot find him,

There is no reason why they shouldn't tell you.
