500hp - how would you?

You want 500hp, it's a 2nd car and you will do 6000 miles a year in it. You want to be able to afford to run it and maintain it properly so nothing really fragile or ghastly expensive to keep. You have £10-12k to spend.

If I was in that boat, I wouldn't crucify myself financially for a 500bhp car. Being terrified that something could go pop would remove all the fun from driving the thing because at that price you'll probably be buying something that some other monkey has modified.

A company in Adelaide Oz will sell you a Rover V8, dyno tested, & guaranteed to put out 500 BHP. A year or so ago they were A$20,000 set up to drop into your TR7/8. That's not much above your figure, but you must of course, have your Triumph to put it into.

Got a link or info ? as 500 from a RV8 aint cheap,not sure what the currency ratio is to the Aus dollar but prob cost you that in pound notes for the right build over here.... fancy that meself
