Speed Trap Locators

Ive never had one, im pretty good at sticking to the speed limit, but a trip down south showed me just how many speed traps there are.

Just wondering who uses a detector and what one do you use.

I was looking at Snooper LYNX GT GPS Speed Trap Locator. Anyone got one?

You can download speed camera locations for most satnavs if you've got one.

i dont have one, im concerned i'll look at the screen not the road, same with a speed detector :0/

Why do drivers need detectors?

i've never used one in 30+ years of driving cars and trucks and the only times i've been caught is when I have deliberately broken the limit in 7.5 tonners

Yes, i've been there and got the T shirt - Early/mid 80s amassed 12 points and pleaded in court so I'm no goody two shoes

do you know if this qualifies for laser detection - as in works, some cheaper ones dont work well from the reviews ive seen

TBH Dont really know how good it is with lasers I didnt get the upgrade.

no secret that people do speed, i have friends who are pretty good at keeping the law but a couple have been caught out when travelling in new areas for work, concentration lapse, (34 in a 30 which i think stinks but still, its speeding)and i dont want to get any points at all.

New areas is what I did all the time being a truck driver so it comes down to what you first said - lack of concentrating on the task in hand

We all creep slighty over but most drivers are capable of a correction within a couple of seconds

i was actually pretty crap wednesday, new car (to me), bigger engine, oap middle lane at 57mph, needed to pull out in traffic so i put foot down to merge with lane 3 and found myself doing over the limit just as a police dude with a laser gun pointing at lane 3, i think he was pointing at the 2 cars infront of me going much faster, either way, my fault but still, id not have done it if the detector went off, if they do work that is hahaaaa
