How rare is this?

Does anybody know the production numbers of the Mercedes 300sl roadster? How rare are they? Am asking as there is one currently parked up at The Mayfly on Hawkinge.

They made 1,858 according to Wiki, however are you sure the car you saw were a 300sl and not a 190sl (they look almost identical to a untrained eye)?
