Insurance; cheapest quote or name you know?
Discussion
Hi
I have just visited moneysupermarket.com for an insurance quote as It is renewal time.
I will pay the premium in one go as opposed to direct debit. The cheapest is from a company called 1st central who I have not heard of at £368.
The next few at circa £414 are companines that include the AA.
Do you guys normally go with the cheapest of prefer to deal with a household name?
Cheers

A bit of a mix. I use A-Plan who are a broker so they often come back with names that I'm not overly familiar with but who, when you dig a little, are bloody huge but don't deal directly with the public so you and I have never heard of them.
I'd be more concerned about small print. There seem to be a lot of insurers appearing who have all manner of bizarre charges for pretty much anything and everything.

ds. I found out that they wont cover a loan car no matter how crap it is. Today I called them to ask how much it will be to insure my new car (a 2006 C350) and they wanted an extra £515 on top of the £900 I pay for an E39 M5!!! WTF. So, I asked how much to cancel the policy and they want £123.00 fees. Stay away from these robbers, thats the problem with internet only outfits.
