use of my car as a prop in TV etc...

are there any reputable companies out there who i can offer my car to be used as a prop for filming etc?

its a land rover lightweight (series 2) - just re-sprayed in dark green/black camo.

if not companies, where might i go to find out about it? i know people put their houses on websites for locations but wondered if there was similar for the car...

in my experience, the decent tv shows and music videos approach owners clubs, not agencies.

source: my dad's old car was used for a few well known group's music videos, and other's in the same owners club were approached this way as well.

Yup - owners clubs - sadly the fees aren't great even for a prime time, and expect them to be ragged quite hard - at least that was the experience of a friend with a 50s classic.

I' like to see someone try and rag a landy from the 1970's. Ok, il get it up on some oc's and go from there.

Probably less of an issue for a Landy. But by rag, the same applies - I mean someone who doesn't have the experience of driving your car/nor care about it. Crunch gears, bump it, etc.

haha, my dad wouldn't let them drive his car, so ended up being in a couple of the shots of some pretty big music videos, just the back of his head mind you, but you can still tell it's him!

Ni on all big budget prodcuions will use a company it's mainly the smaller budget productions that go direct to the clubs and pay less, avoid TV extras agencys they pay pretty crap IME and take a larger wad, stick with a vehical specialist agency like A to E, for instance A to E will pay fuel costs to get to the set, TV extras agencys hate doing it IME .

I saw something about this on Top Gear years ago. They spoke to a couple who's Vauxhall Cavaliar was used on Eastenders. There are agencies you can register your car with but I don't know how much work you'll get from them or how much money.
