Who's your favourite car manufacturer?

Simple question. Who's your favourite car manufacturer and why?
Up until recently, I would have sold my soul to the devil for an Aston Martin. However, the "baby swan" abomination has put me off the brand slightly. Now you can spend £30k on a rebadged Toyota and say that you drive an Aston Martin. Really? Who's going to buy one? Someone who wants to make an ironic statement! I'm sure that a genuine Aston Martin customer would rather spend half as much on something stylish, classless and more fun like a MINI as their runabout. I would still have any of the other models at a heartbeat though. A V8 Vantage Roadster in metallic red if anyone's offering!
For that reason, I would have to say Maserati. They have history and breeding, they've been through tough times and come out the other side and their current line up is stunning yet more subtle than a Ferrari or Lamborghini. I doubt that many footballers drive Maseratis. I know that some of the 80s and 90s models probably weren't that great but they're still kinda cool and they haven't yet (to my knowledge) compromised themselves by making diesel SUVs (Porsche) or rebadged Fords (Jaguar).

Likewise.No manufacturer relentlessly produces cars I like more than cars from other manufacturers, so I don't see any point giving them my loyalty.
My car buying history reflects this.
The only marque I've had more than one car from is Vauxhall and I don't imagine I'll ever have another!

I'm not saying you have to buy one make for the rest of your life. I have never owned a Maserati and I will be very fortunate if I ever do. I'm just saying that they haven't made a car that I didn't like...yet! That's not to say that there isn't another manufacturer that has made a Maserati rival that is better. I have owned 3 VWs and I like VWs but I currently own a Subaru and a Fiat which I like as well. It always used to be Lamborghini - until Audi took over and began to suck something Italian from it or maybe add too much German to it, who knows. I prefer an underdog so quite like Alfa-Romeo but then hate the looks of the MiTo/Giulietta ugly sisters. So I don't really have one as most manufacturers who have a model I like have plenty I don't like.
I think people can like a certain car make but if you just buy from those brands then you will miss out on many other great cars from other brands.
So to answer your question OP: I can't answer as it's all about the CAR and not the badge on the front.

TVR probably. As, since I was a kid, their cars were silly and made people come up with all kinds of stories why I shouldn't own one.
DeTomaso. Because the Pantera is bananas.
Lamborghini - pre Audi.
Maserati - Can switch between awful car and amazing car in the blink of an eye.
