So there I am driving along a single carriageway (one lane in each direction, single dashed white line) and I come across some fella going slower than me. A car passes in the other direction, I drop a cog, look past him - yep, loads of space, pull into the other side (at no point tailgating) and accellerate to overtake. As I draw along side, the space seems to narrow and I hear a horn. Yep, that's right. The utter f
king pillock has decided I shouldn't be overtaking and is now being a fking 'closing the door'.
Seriously, what sort of utter thinks it's acceptable to do this? I just don't understand the mentality - I want to go faster, it's safe to overtake (a road I know and we can both see for a fair distance and with no turnings) and yet I have to sit behind this of the highest order for a fair few miles because he doesn't like me overtaking.

Absolute pillocks that try to deliberately put you in danger for the sake of it.
I overtook someone yesterday who did similar. :s Single carriageway, approaching a roundabout. Massive open space that lets you see the entire road all the way to the roundabout, the full roundabout itself and a good amount of the roads connected to it. Couldn't ask for better conditions, really.
So, great view of the road ahead and absolutely no other traffic, decided to overtake. As I passed the car, another car joined the road from the roundabout, about 800yds away. By the time I'd pulled back in he was still well over 600yds away, but still felt the need to constantly flash his main beams and shout at me as he went passed. Do people think it's illegal to overtake? Even then, there was no way he could have judged it to be unsafe unless he was actually brain dead. Ergh.

It is always tempting to do this in this situation (or when someone pulls out in front of you when they shouldn't), but it just isn't worth the hassle of stopping and dealing with the mouth-breather, bottom-feeder, window-licker.The worst bit of all is that I have a can of Red Bull next to me just in case, but never got in front to have a chance of lobbing it at him. I must say, having the roof down does give me a lot of space to swing.
Oh, and I don't know his e-mail address...

The problem is that when you drive sensibly (i.e. don't tailgate before pulling out), it doesn't matter what you're in - they have plenty of warning to 'close the door'...which this did.Oh well.
