I always get asked one of either 2 things.
Why do I have black and white plates on?
And the most common one is - Where is my steering wheel? Or How have you taken that off? Must have taken ages.

Steering wheel one happened this morning when speaking to a (take a seat hehe) a nice/happy RS4 owner who wasn't a cock (sorry)!
He asked me where my steering wheel is even though I was holding it and out of the car. It really throws people that I use a snap off steering wheel for security rather than a steering lock. I may wear a t shirt that says 'snap off wheel' And these conversations always ends in a silly laugh about if they stole it at least they'll only be able to go forward or backwards.

hehe I can see why that attracts a lot of attention!

I get, almost every single time without fail, "how are you insuring that?!"

Usually followed by much envy or hatred, which is nice and warming biggrin

Does it break down much?
How do you get in and out?
Is it a kit car?

The last one infuriates me somewhat.

"Bet that is a pig to drive"

OR

"How much do you get to a gallon?"

It's a 20 yr old, off-roading Defender 90, I hardly use it, fuel economy is much less important to me than ability in the situations I use it.

"How do you open the door on this thing?"

There's a button to press, but no obvious handle. Throws pretty much everyone the first time.

My question to you would be, "Can I have your car?"

People ask me how I insure mine.

(The answer is; 'by paying insurers'. The usual way. In case anybody was wondering.)

On that point people expect my car to do around 50MPG simply because it's small. And they're shocked when I tell them once they ask and usually then ask 'Why don't you get something more sensible?'
That's a bit annoying.

i get that (from passengers on the inside) the handle is obscured behind the arm rest on the door, it's hard to explain but have yet to have a single passenger who isn't left looking a little confused hehe
