Is this tyre safe?

Just taken delivery of a 2009 SEAT Exeo ST - and I noticed that the side of two of the tyres have small gashes - see pic. Are these tyres safe and roadworthy?

That pic is very blurred, but it looks like just superficial damage to the outer rubber.

Not really, idealy you would want a round tyre, and the red four spokes look cack.

Probably ok. You'll get 2 camps - people who will say def dine, and those that will say replace it, why risk it.

Looks like the rim protector to me, so I would think it would be ok, but you can never be sure I guess.

It's only the rim protector damaged - tear off the bit that's hanging off and don't worry about it
