need a new weekday hack or shed as some refer to them. feel drawn to a Volvo 850R. big,estate,fast,reliable. any thoughts

Personally I wouldn't get fixated on the R over a T5 as they really are much of a muchness so the premium on the R doesn't make much sense. Other than that they are cracking motors, my dad's old T5 still went like stink with 200k on the clock and never once let him down. Things to watch out for are turbos, as they only last about 80k; the clutch release bearing can fail, in which case it will squeak and they chew through front tires.
