Prom transport????

Hi all, just wondered if anybody had any ideas about how to transport my daughter n her friend to their prom in early July, Peterborough area?
My daughter & her friend are well into horses so are more likely to be impressed with a horse n carriage as opposed to an Italian supercar with a prancing horse on it!!!
The problem is its only for the journey there really, so we're only talking bout 45mins max, so hiring a prestige car for 24hrs at £500 + mega deposit seems a bit steep

Me and my mate decided since we couldn't afford to pitch in on all the limos etc people were having, we'd just get into my mum's ridiculously scruffy Escort and arrive in anti-style as it were. Problem is, we were the first ones there


For my gf's sixth form prom, everyone in the year (off their own backs, not school arranged) clubbed in and hired two Routemaster buses - although I realise that this might be unhelpful!

Do you have any friends with a nice old classic of some description?

Do you not have any friends with an interesting motor they'd care to let you borrow? At the end of the day nobody really notices what car you turn up in as long as it isn't rubbish so its not worth spending a fortune (my opinion anyway)

I had a call off a friend the other day asking if I wouldn't mind taking his God-Daughter to her prom in my 2001 Boxster. He said I was the only person he could think of with a vaguely flashy car.

I accepted. I suppose it makes a change to those vile white limos.

He said Prom transport, not Porn transport.

I lent a friend my Interceptor last year and that, along with a drop head Alvis, scored maximum kudos points at his daughter's Prom do, so ask around for a friend with a classic motor.

I'm taking someone to their prom next week in the Cerbera, this will be the second one I've been asked to do . Try contacting a local cargroup near you and I'm sure someone would be glad to help out.

So why not a horse drawn carriage?

Personally I think a proper hot road would make quite a cool statement, but maybe not for everyone.

One of our local schools had to ban the use of helicopters a couple of years back...

My step-daughter has her prom tonight, and about 20 of them are using an open-top bus.

I have a prom to do tonight a good excuse to clean the h2 again i suppose

Not sure if this has happened yet but I know of several people who have approched car clubs Mini/Jaguar etc and asked for their help with this. THe one Mini club I'm a member of did it a while ago and all they asked for was a donation to their chosen charity
