Even more lively with the reduced steering lock kit he's had fitted.

In the event that the car actually works, I expect it would be a bloody handful. They must be worse than Nankang and Linglong!

I'd be binning them off sharpish! Had a vibration on my M3 and wanted to eliminate the tyres so bought some for 47p each. Kept them on for a few weeks and even under normal driving it would slide all over the place!!

Ah, 'Wanli Death Tyres'.

Chap in work fitted them, so we started a sweepstake on his eventual demise. He changed them after 3 days after managing to scare himself witless.

Fairly terrifying to think that someone would wish to deliberately remove grip from a car not exactly blessed with an abundance of it in the first place. I'm amazed anyone would even contemplate fitting budget tyres to a sportscar.

Makes you wonder what other 'economies' have been made on the car!

They're great if you want to end up in a crumpled mess at the side of the road. Horrible things.

yes

My shedvo has ditchfinders on the front and even with some of the ponies out to fallow lights up the tyres at less than half throttle in 2nd and 3rd gear. It is quite funny though.

I just bought a car with a set fitted! Not driven it yet though and will get them changed out, might do a few miles on them just to see how bad. It might be quite fun come to think about it

handy on your daily when you know the wife is probably going to bash them in on a kerb in a few weeks anyway and on the off chance they survive to the end of their lives (they're on the back) they last forever because they're made of plastic.

Awful things, they are a bd to balance as shown by the half tonne of weights in that pic. There are much better reasonably priced tyres than Wanli which actually work ~ Kumho, Falken, Sportiva etc.

I bought my last car from a dealership who had fitted Wanli tyres in order to get it through the MOT. The tyres were not too bad in the dry but absolutely terrible in the wet, they just slid all over the place.

Surely this is the kind of thing that "Brake" should be concentrating on getting banned instead of dropping speed limits everywhere.

yes The only reason I can think of is 's**t, the tyres are down to the legal limit just now that I'm selling the car, I'll replace them as cheaply as possible' - personally I'd decline to drive it until they are replaced with something more apprpriate.'

When I bought my old diesel Bora the garage said that, as part of the deal, they would replace my front tyres. They put a couple of these on. This was 7 years ago and I didn't know any better then.

They are the only tyre I have ever known that has exposed some of the metal innards before it has even worn down! eek They also grip like a freshly lubed, teflon coated cucumber.

Avoid. Especially on a high performance car.

(Chap at work has a set on his Vectra. Been telling him about them for ages so will have to point him to this thread) smile
