World's Rarest Car Spotted? [Laguna Coupé]

Whilst strolling into the office in the sunshine this morning, I was passed by a motorcar that I didn't even realised existed let alone had previous seen.

It was an 09-reg Renault Laguna Coupé.


Although it looked a little more bloated in the flesh.

Looking on Autotrader there are 40 for sale at dealers and a single private sale.

I wonder what other cars from mainstream manufacturers have sold so few?

Saw one on the way to Birmingham childrens hospital the other month, looked nice from the back but the front............

Does the fact I saw a Bugatti Veron driving up Tottenham Court Road the other day count as a rarity.

I see two of these every day on the way to work. Black and silver one.

I think we are all aware that the Veyron exists though

There seems to be a Big Renault theme already on this thread... I think the only other contenders could be the large Hyundai saloons that probably only sold a single example to the head of the UK importer.

Quite like that, slight hint of Aston at the back, if you squint.

+1 They must have had influence from the AMV8V. Shame the front looks like a grinning idiot. IMO, it's almost a beautiful car.

There are two Vel Satis-es and two Laguna Coupes within walking distance of my house.

I like both models, although I'm not sure I'd own either!

I saw one when they were first released to French dealers,always quite liked them.

No doubt values will plummet. Why use the Laguna name? Despite it's origins, nobody wants to say "I have a Laguna but it's the coupe!"

I've seen Avantimes a few times (along with Laguna Coupes - working amongst countless car showrooms might have something to do with that!), but saw a Vel Satis for the first time yesterday (was behind a silver one on my way home from work) and have to say the styling, although different, was pretty unattractive.
