Wanted Ford 2.8 Cologne V6 On Carbs, to get my Mk 4 Cortina back on the road the original 2.3 has let go so decided to upgrade to a 2.8 any info on an engine would be very handy thanks.

You could buy a donor car but old Fords command silly money these days. There's a few 2.8 scimitars about, bit of a shame but you might find one not worth saving to ease the conscience (they might be injection)

You haven't got many options, most of the colognes are injection. It might have to be a mk2 Granada

get on ovalchat and have an ask there, banger racers tend to have the best stock of Mk2 granny parts nowdays smile

It's probably worth finding out what the difference between the carbed and injected engines is. It may be that a quick manifold swap is all it takes.

That's the best idea, there's loads of 2.8/2.9s from xr4x4s, get the correct manifold and put a 38 DGAS. I'm sure there's still some around. I think the 38 was the one from the 3ltr Capri?
