Rough cost of A/C

What's the rough cost of adding Air Con to a car without Air Con.

No car in mind, just a rough idea needed.

Probably cheaper to buy a car with aircon.

It was £3.5k to get it retro-fitted to the GT3

But then there would be a lot more work on a 911 running pipes front to rear etc..

There might be a saving if you're fitting it to a car that came with factory aircon.

IE you have a Mk5 Golf without but want it fitting.

When the previous Jazz first came out, Honda offered a dealer-fit A/C system on the 1.4 S model. The cost was more than the price difference between the S and SE with factory-fit A/C as standard.

New parts from Mazda for a Mk2.5 MX5.

Very roughly..

Compressor; £930+VAT.
Condensor; £515+VAT.
Pipe; £150+VAT.
Pipe; £85+VAT.
Pipe; £330+VAT.

Thats without any clips, fixings, some other random hoses and fitting.

and don't forget the price of gassing it up either.
