Karting in south of England

Trying to arrange karting for a group of friends in the Sussex area.

Buckmore Park seems like the best place , it's in Maidstone , Kent. Anyone had any experiance of the track/karts, is it a decent day out? Or have any other suggestions of decent kart centers in the south coast area?

Would be looking at doing a private enduro (Buckmore require 10-15 people min for this, which shouldn't be a problem)

There is another down at Lydd - but it's almost at the end of the earth.

I think they called themselves Kent International Raceway (may be wrong). But they seem to be busy enough every time I go past.

Buckmore seems to be the place though.

Its a pretty good out door circuit with elevations and a short lap which is alot of fun.
This is just outside Eastbourne.

Haven't been there in a while as the lap is rediculously short - like 20-25secs approx.

Daytona sandown park is very good. May be a bit too far for you though. Highly recommended though.

I've raced at Buckmore many times over the years and it is a great place IMHO

They have a well maintained set of karts and the track is an excellent mixture of flat out sections and technical corners.

Have a look at the karting site to see if anything else in the track directory catches your eye

Went to the Lakeside karting track was really good. Think it was £60-£70 for 50 mins.

Woudn't bother with Lydd. Last time I went there the Karts were those slow, agriculutural, steel st boxes that you get at Sandown and a host of indoor places.

There's a karting place in Crawley that my friends like. It's on 2 levels and a biggish track.

edit: It's got 3 levels, over 1 min lap.

I'd recommend Lakeside. I've been there a lot over the last couple of years, in fact, I was there this monring taking part in a 2 hour endurance event. They have, reasonable karts and a rather challenging circuit.

My son and his friends go over to Buckmore from Hove/Brighton and have a great time. He told me that they went to an indoor track near Crawley for someone's birthday and enjoyed that as well. I can ask him for details if you're interested
