Best throttle adjusable FWD cars?

You can adjust the throttle on all fwd cars by use of the pedal on the right.

EP3 Civic Type-R was pretty adjustible. All the Peugeots I've driven were too, particularly the 306XSI I used to own. Don't know if Peugeot still set them up like that.

I've never had a FWD car that was asjustable on the throttle.

Adjustable by jumping off the throttle yes - but not on the throttle.

You never had a FWD car that would understeer if you gave it too much throttle mid corner?

The Corrado does a pretty reasonable job of it, especially in I4 form (the VR6 is a bit nose heavy).

Yes of course - but that's not what I would consider 'adjusting the line'

I'd call it understeer - and having had a car shod with P6000's I know all about it.

I suppose my thoughts on using a throttle to adjust a line refers to using it to improve the line - to get a better, faster, tighter line through a corner. I've never had a FWD that did that - application of the throttle mid bend did nothing to improve it's line.

It might be different with a car with an aggressive front axle LSD - but i've never had one.

Like I said if I wanted to adjust the line through a corner I'd jump off the throttle - or apply some LF brake.

The question is really which FWD car is set up to oversteer on trailing throttle. In the same way that an RWD car should be set up to understeer a little on trailing throttle, so it can be adjusted with either the throttle or brakes as required.

Yes I know that, but that's only the question because all cars understeer if you give them a bit too much throttle.

Ah. I consider throttle adjustability to be the ability to invoke both oversteer and understeer from neutral corning at the limit by opening or closing the throttle. The understeer is as much as part of that as the oversteer.

It would be quite hard to drive a car quickly if you couldn't get it to understeer under power.

In which case yes. Anything with Pirelli P6000's on the front is enormously throttle adjustable.

The Puma was the best/worst depending on your perspective.

I guess I have always thought of adjustablility to be a preferable trait. I've never considered understeer to be in any way desirable.

Now if a FWD car was blessed with great traction and, for example, a very aggressive LSD on the front axle and the line could be tightened by application of the throttle mid bend I'd consider that to be throttle adjustablility. But like I said - I've never had anything that posessed that particular trait.

Most FWD cars with torsion bar rear suspension tend to be pretty lively and for the most part, pretty easy to change direction by judicious use of the throttle to invoke lift off oversteer.

Mine probably not the best by any means, but my 206 does seem to be quite managable in the corners on the throttle.

I've driven cars which give you a choice of lots of understeer or a bit less understeer - it's a matter of degree. There's certainly a range of throttle adjustibility.
