Next Enzo?

Following on from the 'Last Veyron' thread, I got wondering about the next big thing. There seems to have been snippets about the next Enzo / F70 over the past few years, all claiming about 700bhp and 1200-1400kg. Now in 2008 (first date on the links I noticed with those figures), that was absolutely epic, but with the Aventador coming in at £250k and 700bhp (and not that much weight), I worry whether the F70 will be as much a step forward as the Enzo was.

Would 700bhp be enough as a headline figure to justify high six figures (which I guess the f70 will be), unless the weight was down nearer 1000kg?

I imagine this is the last possible "round" of "hypercars" that can improve the performance a bit from the more normal supercars. Even that will be a hard task. The only way I think they can go after is to go down the route of Pagani/ Aston Martin One-77 etc, and go for perfection on all parts of the car.

Or maybe go the Veyron route, but lightweight?

There are loads of alternatives that could make the 'F70' a giant leap forward.

Never underestimate the one-upmanship of a supercar manufacturer.

I can't imagine Ferrari releasing a car that performs lower than the new Lambo.

The problem is acceleration (where it would be legal) is getting close to being impossible to improve on. There's improving build quality, and increasing top speed/ acceleration at higher speeds.

Ferrari should go the extreme light-weight route. That is a niche that no supercar since the F40 has preyed upon.

Sub 1100kg, 600BHP+ = holy crap.
