Today i learnt my lesson.
I had a business trip for which i had provided a hire car, and with that the car in question was delivered. In the carpark waiting, a '10 plate Kia C'eed resplendant in metallic silver. Now i have to admit i wouldnt go out and buy a C'eed out of my own money, but from a distance i've always thought they were a reasonably built, quite european looking Korean version of an Astra.
I was wrong.
Reviews seem favourable for example:
"For buyers who think Kia is merely a manufacturer of cheap cars the Cee'd will come as a real surprise. Designed for European buyers it's a huge improvement over its predecessor (the dull Cerato) and matches many of the mainstream alternatives. The styling is neat, it's spacious inside and the interior is modern and well-finished."
The reality was a weezing korean dog suitable for nothing more than an early retirement to the family dinner table. Seriously, i've driven a fair spectrum of cars, but nothing has been such a disappointment than the C'eed. The engine has no quality worth mentioning, infact popping itself into limp mode mid uphill acceleration provided a particular highlight today. The seats are fashioned from old church pews, the switchgear stolen from early Nissans, and the driving experience from that can only be described as woafully inadequate.
So the fact remains, never judge a book by a cover, not even a book that you imagine to be reasonable... you will be disappointed.

"moron" was a brilliant touch 
I didnt pay for it, work did, and yes i know my opinion is based on a single rental vehicle, on a single day... BUT regardless of foibles unique to this vehicle (engine fault and LingLong tyres), for me it was an eye opener that vehicles of this poor quality to someone LIKE ME who hasnt ever driven one before would appear to be a good car and appear to be reasonably popular.

TBF, if thats his opinion, thats his opinion simple as that. If he has had the car a day and done some miles in it over a range of roads and thinks its crap, i think he is quiet entitled to it.
I think alot of people on here give opinions in what car threads by looking at a photo on google, telling someone why to buy that particular car.

As for previous experience, at the moment i've got a poxy 03 Arosa as work smoke, and the Mrs a New Ibiza SC thingy, have also previously spent 3 years in the motor trade working for a Ralliart approved Mitsubishi main dealer...so i can speak with experience.
...it was bad, put it this way it makes the current Lancer JT sportsback (launched just prior to me leaving the motor trade) look like a brilliantly engineered high quality drivers car lol.
