Help: Need help putting a CLS interior back together?!?

I was trying to help retrieve a mobile phone that was stuck in the cubby hole behind the gear stick of a Mercedes CLS. The only way to get it out was to take the whole lid off from the runners which I did. Now there is a retractable tape bit that is hidden below the cubby hole which helps operate the whole mechanism and which I can't get to without taking apart more of the interior.

Any ideas on where I can find out how to do this or will I risk taking apart something that will have yet more mechanisms which I probably won't know how to put back together. The whole lid is one of the soft closing, smooth open and closing lids.

Probably have to take the rear centre console out now. The bit with the armrest and gear selector in.
