"CUM" and "PUF" car registrations

What would you do if you had bought a new car and the dealer registered it with the three letter part spelling "CUM" or "PUF" or something similarly embarrassing (I appreciate some people wouldn't find it embarrassing, but I would - my mates would be bound to nickname it "the spunkmobile" or something )?

Could you turn it down and make them change it?

(Don't know how prevalent these are - see a fair few CUMs, and I recall seeing quite a few C--- PUFs back in the day).

In my experience of buying a new car, the dealer has a list of available plates, you choose one.

I don't think this is a question of impressing anyone. If you had a choice of two plates one of which would result in you getting the piss taken out of you by your mates and one that wouldn't you would have to be Colin Hunt not to go for the latter option.
