As far as I know it's a 30. Title is I suppose incorrect; it's actually a mental speed hump!

I think it's great.

I live on a fairly narrow residential road which is used by all and sundry as a cut through. In the mornings we have yummy mummys in 4x4s failing to give way to parked cars (obviously never read about priorities in the Highway Code) and so they all speed down to try and avoid meeting any cars going the other way.

In the evening we have the office crowd in Mini's and other chav-bling credit cars on phones speeding to get home.

In the late evening we have less well off chavs just plain speeding.

I would have no objection at all but cars these days are mainly st boxes which need the nuts revving off them to get anywhere and it's a noise issue more than anything. The turbo diesels are the worst with their whiney asthmatic engines.

I love my V8, I love a good run at high speed in the right place and will ask the council to put some on my road, preferably most of it.

They use those wobbly blocks (that's what I call them) on a large central reservation in Loughborough town centre at a busy junction. I think it's to make you use the pedestrian crossing, but we still just go over them.

Bloody hard to walk on and makes it look like you've dropped one in your pants as you stagger over them.

Definitely wouldn't want to go over those at any speed in my car

So if you drove over it at the speed limit and it damaged your car could you sue the council for damages ?

Surely if you line yourself up in the wrong place on that, it's going to cause no end of damage to your wheels as they chew along the raised sections. Low profile tyres + 18/19" wheels = an interesting (expensive) pattern in the rim
