Daimler vs Jaguar Prices

Just looking at XJ's for sale thought Daimler basically the same car give or take a few toys. So why are the Daimlers almost double the price

I'm looking at early 1998/1999 car here ?

But there are other interesting Jag/Daimler price differences when it coms to the iconic MKII shape.

A 2.5 or 250 Daimler can be half the price of a 3.4 MKII Jag.

Daimlier lot more rarer- prices do to start to close on older cars
Cheapest is 98 super v8 with rare lwb at 2.2k -but big miles though
