As above, due to a recent purchase, I have no real need for the 4 seats of my 2008 RX-8 with less than 15k on it. I quite fancy a little 2 seater run-around. Boxster, Mx-5, S2000 or possibly a Lotus? Any suggestions welcome.

Judging by current RX-8 values, he'll be needing to put cash the way of the Mx-5 owner too.

MR2 Turbo. You could get a very tidy one indeed, and have a wedge of cash left over for fettlement.

When I say direct swap, I can add money to it. S2000 is probably the favourite so far, I am not looking for out and out performance, just as much fun and good handling as the RX-8 with an open top.

My RX-8 has been very frugal on oil and has never flooded, it has been a great car, most people who have owned one will agree I am sure.

The engine does use oil but at nowhere near the levels people think. The easiest way to describe the engine is that it uses oil like a 2 stroke (for lubrication) as it burns it off. In 20 000 miles I have only just used 10 lites of oil. It runs on 5w-30 semi synthetic and as it burns it off there is no need for expensive oils so once every 10 000 miles a bottle of Halfords own brand at £25 is not the end of the world is it.

Many thanks Mr Sparkle.

It's not just oil though is it, gets pretty crappy mpg considering its not overly powerful.

RX8's have fallen out of bed on price, I would try and find someone willing to take it off your hands first before deciding on a replacement.

At auction they are apparently I would not want to buy one as one's being stuck through will almost certainly have a fked engine seems can get a nice private one for easily sub 4k as well 3/4 more years and they will be £1500/£2000 I think the way thing's are going...
