Once i thought about selling my impreza WRX for a Toyota Yaris, to save fuel & maintance costs.
If i think about today, it raises my backs hair.

I once bought a £1100 Citroen Xantia 1.8 when I was 22 because I needed a car quick for work :O

It lasted three months before it shat out fifth gear on the motorway, followed three miles later by fourth at which point I parked it on the hard shoulder and phones the aa. Trying to get it back out of gear we managed to snap the linkage before it would come out, I get the feeling there wasn't much oil in the 'box.

Oddly enough, I've never had another french car since.
