Selling a car - am I barmy?

I sold my audi Allroad yesterday but being very anal about my car I wanted to make sure it was right before it went. It had 2 months test left but gave him 12 months but also got the garage to service it and check everything plus remove air springs to check they're ok as well as smart repairing an odd car park ding.
The new owner is chuffed to bits but would he expect me to spend £470 on a £3000 car before it went?

So, let me get this, you sold an unserviced car with 2 months test (price reflected that). Then, after the sale, you had a full service carried out at your expense?

Barmy. If I have bought it I would be, thanks - but the price is the price. I normally throw in fuel as a luck penny. £500 service??????

It wasn't a £500 service. The service was probably £200 of the total.
It wasn't an unserviced car, it has full service record but would be due one in the next 4-6 months.
My idea was giving him a car he could be worry free for 12 months, he has 4 young children so I presume their money will be always spent.

If you can afford it and not care then good in you, I'm sure the buyer will be happy and the good karma will help.

...Audi Allroad is probably not a car for someone who is hard up to buy.

If you are happier selling it that way, then there is no problem. You can shake the mans hand with a smile on your face and a clear conscience. If he has a drama down the road then its not down to you.

Depends on the value of the car i had just sold, if it was less that an £50000 car then i may be feeling a little peeved right now..

Similar thing happened to me.

Bought a punto sporting for £2k of ebay, the guy put 12 months MOT on it, that included 4 new tyres, he also had it serviced at Fiat the day before.
