Why is this £40,000?

Why are there some up for sale for between £38-40,000?

The ones at £18,000 seem too much money imho.

You can get a Gucci one now with glitter in the paintwork. They're fashion accessories and people will pay big money for them like they will for handbags and shoes with the right designer name. Especially if they can jump the waiting list.

In blunt terms, because the people it is aimed at (rightly or wrongly) couldn't give two shakes of a monkey's tail about the cost, it just doesn't register. 'Tis an irrelevance in the same way as Bic vs expensive pen, silly expensive watch vs one more ordinary etc.
You don't agree with it, I don't & doubtless countless others too. However, unless one of us picks up a photo cheque on Tuesday for 155 bar, we probably won't ever understand.

The 45k Dobbin is a total red herring. Why would you lower yourself/bother when you could have all the brown nosing direct from source that comes with genuine Loadsa?

When i picked up the wifes std A500, they had one in the showroom.

I asked if he had sold many and he said 'loads'....

However, to the likely buyers that is a total irrelevance. They have far better Blackpool Ponies and the like (plus as suggested, they probably get pretty personal service if they show any interest & are unlikely to lower themselves to frequenting a used car lot) and they want a runabout or a car for the wife/sprog. Taking the Euro jackpot as an easily accesible ballpark, it is the equivalent of your average wage earner parting with a couple of hundred Queen's English, which for a nippy runabout would doubtless be celebrated within these walls.

IIRC when originally released these weren't for sale to the general public; they were only offered to selected Ferrari customers. Their secondhand price will be dictated by the used Market, and right now £40k seems to be the going rate
