Hi There
Before I go elsewhere on the internet I thought I would ask here,

A local Italian has this Pasquali Tipo 991 tractor serial number “869”,

This thing is 40ish years old, he loves it but unfortunately when out using it one day lever 1 seized solid,

The picture shows the right side of the tractor there are two levers lever 1 is the high/low lever and lever number 2 is the gear lever 1 2 3 & 4,

He was using it without any problems and selected natural with the High/Lower lever when he returned to the tractor (after about a couple of minute) there was no gear selection at all it appears to be totally seized.....

I am not a tractor man in any way but he has asked me to look at it for him, but I don’t know where to start, I do know it is possible able to split a tractor in two, I have highlighted a ring of bolts which look like this may be possible, but will this give me access to lever number 1 or will a shed load of gears drop out?

I don’t have a workshop manual...... so I am asking is there anyone who can help in anyway, does anyone know anything about the Pasquali Tractor?

I have tools to do the job including a couple of jacks to support each half once spitted,

Thanks for any help.

Very unlikely for gears to fall out, more likely oil, although removing those bolts may get you to see whats seized.

To 'split' a tractor means to seperate the engine from the gearbox, usually to change the clutch.

Splitting a tractor without knowing what you are doing is asking for trouble and for the inexperienced usually ends up with both halfs ending up on the floor and often a broken casting.

Yes I totally agree with you, the engine is a single cylinder diesel air cooled motor which is bolted to the front of the tractor, the clutch pedal operates a cable which also goes to the front of the tractor so I suppose that’s where the clutch is, so this ring of bolts looks to me as it’s the middle of the gearbox, which is why I really need to speak to a Pasquali professional or at least try to get a workshop manual, I just thought there may be someone on here that could offer some advice...

You could try reposting in General Gassing, or in The Engines section - or ask a moderator to move this post for you (click on report and explain there). More viewers there and more likely to find some info?

Also worth posting here (although very US orientated):

Or for sale ($40 though) here:

Third one down looks interesting and could possibly let you work out where to go next.

I really think you need the lid off the gearbox,if it has one, then you may be able to see what the lever connects to.
