Have been quoted on my 2 cars with Admiral and they have come in far below anyone else. However, when speaking with other brokers, they have said the reason for this is a lack of appropriate cover and "other things". Does anyone have any experience with this??

Also on a side note, My up-front quote is £1100 for both but to pay monthly they want £1500!!! Is it just me or is this a crazy amount of interest to ask??

If you don't like their personal loan rate (which is what it is, rather than monthly installments for your insurancr), get a loan from elsewhere.

My quote from Admiral was more than insuring each car seperately!

Forget their multi-car, I rang up to see if they'd match my renewal price to a quote from Elephant, and they went into the Elephant quote and changed it from £650~ to £940~, so they could turn around and say 'So actually, your renewal price is lower!'.

Girl on the phone was very friendly while she did it though, at least.

I've had this multi car thing with Admiral for about 4 years now and nobody can match it for price. I've not had any problems but then again I've not had to make a claim. All the people at the call centers seem to be nice as well.

Better run off and touch some wood now to be on the safe side!

I have nothing but praise for them. Friendly staff, good prices and will negotiate with you over renewal. A polite phone call talked my renewal down by £155 last week. It was already significantly less than anyone else. Firm thumbs-up from me. For info, I have a multicar for our two daily drivers.

I had the same issue with monthly payments last year, my renewal was £1100 but they wanted £1500 to pay monthly..

Lucky I had the cash

No complaints here either. 3 cars (including 2 V8s smile) for less than £1100. Takes a bit of negotiating around renewal time, but that's part of the fun!

No problems here and after a costly policy document over-sight a few years back I always read my policy docs and what is included and excluded in detail.

Always cheapest for me three years in a row; excellent in handling a claim I made and very efficient in doing so.

My dad has an Admiral multi-car policy (I think he has 4 cars on it) and it is good value.

Also, he made a claim on one car and it went through with no problem. He took the car to one of the recommended repairers, they checked it out, got it authorised by Admiral, gave a courtesy car and fixed it with just the excess being paid to them.

Based on that, I am not sure what is sub-standard or excluded !

I had the same experience a couple of months ago when my wife took on an inanimate steel girder with her Golf. They (and the repairers) couldn't have been more helpful.

I spend about an hour or two on the phone to them each year sorting issues, renewals etc but most importantly it gets sorted. Good company to deal with and always good value for me

Did you then do another quote online with Elephant with the same details? Admiral quoted me £900+, Elephant £650, Admiral checked all the details and matched the price, they are the same company after all. I did ask why the two companies qouted differently, the bloke on the phone honestly enough said, there's no logic with insurance quotes.

If you have a new car , they won't replace with new. Many insurers will replace with new for first year of policy.

Admiral were surprisingly bar far and a way the cheapest for the M6. The P38 RR was already insured with them, and they added the M6 mirroring the no claims.

Fortunately I'd already done 3/4 quotes (changing semantics of job title to see if things would make a difference, they were mostly consistent), so I simply said no thanks and then went back to one of the earlier quotes of £650.

All the details on the quote as she confirmed with me on the phone were the same as I put in, I even said 'If there's any discrepancy between the details on the renewal and the quote, go with what I have on the quote'. She said it was something about the car code, but if it's down as a 'Toyota MR2 G-Limited Import' then I'm pretty happy to stick with that. IIRC she wanted it to be a GT. Rather illogical, since the main difference between the two is that mine is an import, and a GT isn't (IIRC GT can be turbo or non-turbo, as can the G-Limited, mine's N/A).
